From Pretend Play to Professional Passion - My Journey as a Teacher
Growing up, Nakambale arranged her mother’s flower pots and rocks like students, teaching them as if in a classroom. This passion led her to a career in teaching that she deeply loves, inspired by her aunt, a dedicated nun and teacher. Despite her nurse mother's encouragement to pursue nursing, Nakambale was drawn to teaching, earning a degree from Kwame Nkrumah University and returning to teach at her alma mater, Lwitikila Girls Secondary School. Seeking new challenges, she moved to Konkola Copper Mines Trust School, where she embraced the transformative 1 Million Teachers Black Belt program, which reshaped her teaching methods and professional growth.
"I love being a teacher and helping my students achieve their dreams. That’s my greatest aspiration," says Nakambale, a grade 4 teacher and proud 1MT Black Belt.

Selected for the incubator program, the experience solidified my belief in leading through teaching. Focused on children aged 5 to 12, the project not only granted access to books but also emphasized crucial comprehension skills and phonics, shaping the future success of young readers and critical thinkers.

The turning point came when I discovered the 1Million Teachers online training platform in September 2021. The self-paced courses, obtained at no cost, proved both interesting and applicable, enhancing my teaching and leadership skills.
The Change in My Teaching Career - Patrick Osadebey
I have taught for more than 15 years, and I believe I have mastered the skills required of an educator. Teaching sparked a passion in my heart during Primary 4. Watching my teacher, the late Mrs. Agusiobo, in her class was fascinating. She was not just a teacher par excellence but also a mother. Her dedication to guiding and advising us to be the best versions of ourselves inspired me to become a teacher, impacting lives in the classroom. It was not an easy decision to make.
